Everyday Tips and Symptom Remedies

A healing reaction is a symptom or symptoms one experiences during a healing or detoxification process in the body. Just like muscles can be sore after a good workout, the body can have symptoms while it is healing. Healing reactions are very common on the program and are not harmful, but they can be intense at times. Healing reactions may include symptoms such as headaches, fatigue, dizziness, anxiety, depression, heart racing, insomnia, bloating, cramping, joint pain, nausea, rashes, infection symptoms (cough, runny nose, fever, sinus pressure, ear pain, sore throat, etc.), and many other aches, pains, emotions and random symptoms. Healing reactions can last anywhere from a few minutes to a few months.
If you are doing the program very well and encounter symptoms, chances are it is a healing reaction. Remember that if any healing reaction starts getting too intense, you may simply reduce or stop your supplements for a few days, which usually slows the healing and lessens the reaction. (Note: if your symptoms are infection-related, be sure to follow the instructions below. Don’t just stop all of your supplements.) Also, be sure you are drinking enough water, rubbing your feet, and getting enough rest. Coffee enemas help with most healing reactions. During healing reactions, a person may increase the number of coffee enemas being done to as many as 3 per day or even more. Use judgment for your particular case and take into account any known sensitivity to caffeine when increasing enema frequency.
Accidents and Injuries
If you are in a minor car accident, have banged your head or have somehow hurt yourself, make sure you see a doctor or chiropractor right away. Once they have cleared you of any dangerous condition, such as a concussion, you can take up to 15 Multizyme by Standard Process per day to help with the pain and swelling of an acute injury.
Once you start an antibiotic, you have to finish it. But we do suggest you take at least two strong doses of probiotics along with it (take it 2 hours away from the antibiotic) so that you protect your gut flora. Continue the probiotics for a few weeks after antibiotics. You can get any strong one from the health food store, like BioK+ which comes in a yogurt form. We also carry probiotics and can ship to you as well, so search “Probiotic” on our online store to see our options.
You can also take colloidal silver (such as Silver 24) concurrently to taking antibiotics. Put up to 3 Tbsp (for adults) into a bottle of water and sip on it throughout the day. It’s best if you don’t take them with the probiotics — allow about 30 minutes before and after taking probiotics to take the colloidal silver.
Anxiety can occur due to copper detox, adrenal fatigue, blood sugar swings, mercury detox and a few other less common causes. If you are experiencing an uncomfortable amount of anxiety, you may try increasing your Paramin up to as many as 9 per day to see if that helps. If you get diarrhea from the extra Paramin, reduce the Paramin to a tolerable dose and add some extra plain Calcium instead. Generally, supplements such as Megapan, Thyro Complex, and Endo-Dren can make anxiety a little worse because they are stimulating in nature, so one may want to temporarily reduce the amounts of these being taken. That said, if the anxiety is due to adrenal fatigue, these supplements may be helpful. You will have to test and see. Limcomin can occasionally worsen anxiety, so you may test reducing that dose, as well. Be sure to let me know if you are having to reduce or change your doses on a frequent or permanent basis. If the anxiety is tolerable, please continue on your standard program. Be sure to eat every 2-3 hours in case blood sugar instability is behind your anxiety. Also, rest as much as possible and drink plenty of water. Rubbing the feet can relax the body. Saunas are also very relaxing and may help. Chamomile tea can be helpful, as can Valerian herbal products.
This occurs for the same reason as joint pain and urinary tract irritation on the program (see “Joint Pain” and “Urinary Tract” below). When irritant toxins are passed from the liver to the small intestines, they now have to move down through the entire intestinal tract on their way to the bowel where they are then released through your feces (otherwise casually known as “pooping them out”). They can irritate the intestines on their way through and cause a lot of bloating, sometimes severe and prolonged bloating. I have seen some cases of bloating last for a couple of months during a long detox reaction. A single heat lamp aimed at the abdomen can be extremely helpful. Also, coffee enemas help to clear the intestines. Another trick that often helps is to rub your back right behind where your waist is. You can put your hands on your hips and use your thumbs to rub the whole area of your back between the rib cage and the hip bones. This area is linked to your intestines, and rubbing it can help to relax the intestines. Of course, you may have someone else rub it for you, too. Rubbing the feet is also extremely helpful, especially focusing on areas related to the liver and intestines. A handy foot chart I like can be found here.
Sometimes it is very hard to find a remedy for the bloating, and one just has to wait it out. Reducing the supplements can slow the detox and provide relief. But even a healthy diet can continue a detox once it has started, so stopping supplements won’t always stop the detox and the bloating.
Another cause for bloating is fungus or other infections in the gut being killed off by the body. The same remedies above apply. Also be sure to drink a lot of water to help flush the intestines.
If you suspect you have just consumed something slightly toxic, such as a lot of MSG in your meal, you can take up to 3 charcoal capsules to help absorb the poisons. Charcoal may cause constipation, so if you experience constipation, take extra GB-3.
If you have been to or are going to a toxic (chemical) environment, such as a shopping mall, hair salon, hardware store, etc. there are several things you can do. You Can Breathe masks, PectaSol
Colds and Flus
The moment you think you may be getting sick (the first sniffle, throat tickle, or feeling of being “rundown”), jump into a hot bath or sauna for 45 minutes and use a cool rag or ice pack wrapped in a towel to keep your head cool. Do not do saunas or take baths if you are pregnant. Start on the below supplements immediately:
- Congaplex by Standard Process – take 4 right away and then one per hour up for a total of 12 the first day. In the days that follow, take 1 per hour up to 8 per day.
- Endo A-C by Endo-Met – take two per hour up to 14 per day. If you get loose stool or diarrhea, stop the Endo A-C until the loose stool stops. Once the loose stool stops, add it in again at only 1 per hour. You may only be able to take 12 or 10 or 8 per day without getting loose stool. That’s fine. Take as many as you can without getting loose stool.
- Andrographis by Standard Process – take one per hour up to 6 per day. Do not take if you are pregnant or nursing.
- Silver 24 – 3 Tbsp per day in a bottle of water and drink it throughout the day.
- Limcomin – If Limcomin is part of your normal supplement protocol, double your normal dose. Limcomin can cause detox, so only increase if you can tolerate it.
- Avoid all sugar! The most important thing is to avoid all sugar, including fruit, honey, maple syrup, agave, etc.
- If you are doing coffee enemas, continue.
- Stay warm, stay hydrated and rest, rest, rest.
- Continue daily baths and/or saunas. Baths should be 45-minutes and as warm as you can tolerate. Use a cool rag or ice pack wrapped in a towel to keep your head cool. If you can get it, add 1 gallon of 3% hydrogen peroxide every other day to your bath. It may wake you up so don’t do that at night because it might make it hard for you to go to sleep. In addition to (or instead of) baths, you can also do frequent, short saunas (only 5 to 10 minutes at a time).
- Single Heat Lamp on sinuses/throat and chest. If you have a heat lamp, use it on your sinuses or throat for 10 minutes at a time, 6 times daily if you have a sore throat or congestion. You can also use it on your chest for up to 40 minutes at a time, 6 times daily for cough. (Make sure you read full instructions on using a heat lamp here first: Single Heat Lamp Information.)
- Lymph massage is good too. You can find videos online for Lymph self-massage for colds. For instance, this is a good one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zLB6n_R-dus
- Daily sunshine on your bare skin is also good if your schedule permits and only as long as the following conditions apply: 1) You can do so without exposing yourself to the cold or toxins such as car fumes, and 2) if you are in an area of the world where you can currently get UVB from the sun. To find out if you can currently get UVB in your location, enter your city and the date into this website: http://aa.usno.navy.mil/data/docs/AltAz.php. If the number in the Altitude column is higher than 50, you can get UVB from the sun at those times of day listed. If it is lower than 50, don’t even bother. Continue this protocol for a full week after your symptoms are gone.
I recommend that every family have a Large Congaplex, Large Silver 24 and Large Endo A-C in the house since any member of the family can take them. Children can take proportionally less (use their body weight as a guide — an adult weight is 120+ pounds — so a 60 pound child can take 1.5 Tbsp of colloidal silver daily, etc.).
If you can jump into a sauna or bath and start taking the above supplements at the first sign of illness, you can generally avoid actually getting a cold.

Cold sores are small blisters that form on the lips and/or edge of the mouth. A large percentage of the population gets them. Fortunately, you can prevent them if you act at the very first sign that a cold sore is coming! Go to our Cold Sores page to find our Cold Sore Protocol. Prepare several pill packets with the protocol and keep them in your purse, work desk, home refrigerator, and any other place that is convenient, so you can take one the moment you suspect you may be getting a cold sore. Usually, this will prevent one from forming.
Constipation can flare up at times on the program, especially during certain types of liver healing or liver stress. Other factors such as travel and emotional stress can also cause constipation, as can dehydration, diet changes, etc.
The first thing to do is to make sure you are drinking your full water dose. Drinking 16 to 24 ounces of warm water first thing in the morning will also usually help relieve constipation.
The next thing to try is increasing your dose of GB-3. You may take up to 15 GB-3 per day as needed. If that doesn’t work, you can also try taking extra magnesium — this will only work if the magnesium is not absorbed from the intestines into the blood, so a low-quality, inexpensive magnesium product usually works best for this purpose.
You can also try Aloe Vera and/or Slippery Elm. Sometimes eating more raw vegetables can help push things along.
In fact, for severe constipation, all of the above may be needed until we get your various organs and glands healthy enough for you to have bowel movements on your own.
Sometimes the discomfort or inflammation from detox can be mistaken for constipation. Coffee enemas can help constipation or the feeling of constipation. If you are sensitive to caffeine and can’t do coffee enemas, you may do a water enema with up to 3 cups of water instead.
As a note, coffee enemas work very well to clear the bowel. If you are doing one or more coffee enema every day, don’t be concerned if you do not have another bowel movement on your own.
Cuts and Scrapes
Dental health is so important! We recommend that every get their teeth regularly cleaned and cared for by a Biological Dentist.
What is Biological Dentistry?
Sometimes called holistic or environmental dentistry, Biological Dentistry is basically a system of dentistry that takes into consideration the effects of the teeth on the entire body. They focus on avoiding toxic materials (such as mercury and flouride) and avoiding procedures that can potentially lead to infection or other problems down the line (such as root canals). If you need dental work, we highly recommend seeing a biological dentist. Additionally, if you have any amalgam (metal) fillings or root canals, we also highly recommend contacting a biological dentist about having them replaced with non-toxic alternatives.

Depression can occur while on the program and is usually due to either fatigue or the effects of toxic copper being dumped out or circulated in the body. The article “Why Fatigue Can Occur on This Health Program” is good to reference to see the reasons fatigue occurs and also contains information about depression. Generally, for depression, resting more is ideal. Your body is basically demotivating you because it is tired. Your body wants you to lie around all day so that it can rest. Some people think this is being lazy, but if the body is healing during this time, this rest is not laziness and is actually necessary in order to recover. In addition to resting more, if you are already on Megapan, Thyro Complex or Endo-Dren you may try increasing the amounts of those you take by 50%. So, for example, if you take 6 Megapan per day on a usual basis, then you may try increasing to 9 per day temporarily. If your depression gets worse when you increase one or more of these, then the depression is likely due to copper not to fatigue. In this case, reducing Megapan, Thyro Complex and Endo-Dren to below your usual doses may actually slow the release of the copper and ease symptoms. Similarly it may be best to reduce Zinc or Limcomin to slow the detox.
It is best during depression caused by healing to not over-analyze your life or make big decisions. It is tempting when in the middle of the depression to try to figure out what part of one’s life is causing the depression. If the depression is being caused by something physical then this analysis will not work and the person will often come up with the wrong “reason” for the depression.
Depression can last a while at times on the program, even up to a couple of months or more depending on the healing taking place. It is usually mild and can come and go. Sometimes it is stronger. If the depression is severe, please contact us right away.
An episode of diarrhea can occur due to detox, but this is a rare event and usually lasts no longer than one day.
Diarrhea from supplements. If you started on Paramin, GB-3, or any other new supplement and are now having loose stool or diarrhea, stop Paramin, GB-3 and any new supplements, and follow the instructions here: Diarrhea from Supplements. If stopping these supplements doesn’t help, you may take activated charcoal capsules up to 12 per day for adults, and be sure to contact us.
Diarrhea from food poisoning or the stomach flu. If you suspect that you may have had food poisoning or the stomach flu, see Food Poisoning and the Stomach Flu.
Please take diarrhea seriously, especially if it is occurring multiple times per day; you can lose too much fluid and vital nutrients if it goes on too long.
Ear Aches and Infections
For ear aches, the four best tools are the single heat lamp, lymph massage, colloidal silver and mullein garlic oil. For full instructions, go here: Ear Infections
Eyes – Maintaining your vision and eye health
Eyes – Sudden Floaters, Blurred Vision, Flashes, Black Curtain, etc.
Sometimes you can have a couple extra floaters (tiny specks that seem to drift through your field of vision) or blurred vision temporarily when you are going through a period of fatigue, but it’s usually slight, temporary and accompanied by a feeling of being tired.
If you ever suddenly have a lot of floaters, blurred vision that doesn’t go away, feel a black curtain drifting around your eye, or see white flashes, immediately get a referral from your Optometrist for Ophthalmologist who can do a retinal surgery. Your Optometrist should have a referral list for this. Those are signs of your retina detaching. This is a medical emergency. You need to see someone within 24 hours of those symptoms appearing. If you can catch a retinal tear right away, it’s usually a relatively simple procedure to fix it. Once the retina detaches, it’s a major surgery and you could permanently lose your vision. If you don’t have an Optometrist or someone else you can contact for referrals, you can always go to the emergency room. They are usually equipped to handle these types of emergencies.
This is the most common healing reaction. During phases of fatigue, it is generally recommend to get more rest and sleep if possible. Please see our article “Why Fatigue Can Occur on This Health Program”.
A fever is part of your immune response.
Fungal Infection, Feet and Toenails

There is another treatment that came on our radar recently but we haven’t had anyone try it yet:
Equal parts vodka and grapefruit seed extract rubbed into toes three times per day. Use a dropper and drop it on three times per day.
Often with toenail fungus it indicates internal fungus, so avoid all sugar including fruit, agave, honey, etc.
Food Poisoning and the Stomach Flu
Preventing food poisoning. If you ate some food that you suspect may have been contaminated with bacteria, take 2 or 3 Betaine HCL by Endo-Met and 3 Tbsp of Silver 24 (undiluted) with or immediately after that meal to prevent food poisoning.

Gluten, Accidentally ate
If you accidentally ate gluten, you can take enzymes designed for gluten. We carry three different brands here and it may be a good idea to get one and keep a few capsules in your purse, desk at work, home refrigerator, or wherever else is convenient, so you can take them in case you suspect you may have had some gluten. Always stop all supplements when you get a headache. Once the headache passes, start your supplements slowly with very small doses, and gradually work into the full doses. Headaches are usually caused by toxins dumping. As the toxins circulate on their way out of the body, they can cause a headache. You need to give the body a chance to finish filtering out and removing the toxins before taking more supplements. Extra coffee enemas almost always help and are best done at the first sign of a headache. You may do more than one coffee enema in a day if needed, and if you tolerate them well. Also, rubbing the feet, especially the toes, can be very helpful. Drink extra water if possible.

Heart Racing and Palpitations
In most cases, heart racing (a rapid heartbeat) while on a nutritional balancing program is caused by toxins dumping. Sometimes the heart will also beat strangely, and it can feel like it is skipping beats. This can go on for minutes, hours or even days. What is occurring is that toxins that have dumped out of organs, fat and other storage sites are now circulating around and irritating the heart. It is not dangerous but can be a bit alarming. The heart will beat faster in an attempt to get the blood pumped more times through the kidneys so that the kidneys can filter the toxins out of the blood. If the kidneys are slow at removing the toxins, the heart will beat even faster. The first solution is to drink more water to help the kidneys filter the toxins. Also, rubbing the feet can be helpful. Sometimes a coffee enema will also help. If it is disturbing you, then stop the supplements for a day or two to slow the healing and detox.
Other less common causes of a racing heart are indigestion and food allergies. These similarly are not dangerous. A more rare cause of a racing heart is Grave’s disease or hyperthyroidism (an over-active thyroid). When the thyroid is over-active, the heart will beat too fast. This is a condition usually accompanied by other symptoms of a hyper thyroid. A simple blood test to check thyroid hormones can confirm if one is indeed hyper-thyroid. If drinking more water and/or stopping the supplements resolves the racing heart, then it is very unlikely that hyper-thyroid is the cause (hyper-thyroid is quite rare). Typically, if caused by a healing reaction, the resting heart rate will not exceed 120 beats per minute. If you have any concern over a racing heart or other heart symptoms, feel free to consult a doctor, but please realize that this is a very common symptom when on a nutritional balancing program when certain toxins are being released by the body.
Trouble sleeping can occur for a number of reasons. You may reference our Sleep Remedies article for additional tips. If you are having trouble sleeping, make sure to not take Megapan, Thyro Complex, Endo-Dren, Kelp and Limcomin near bedtime. These can keep some people awake at night. Also, have a snack of protein and fat before bed and avoid sugar. You may take extra Paramin before bed and during the night. TMG may also interfere with sleep, so you may try discontinuing it or taking less of it to see if that is the problem. Most natural sleep aids are fine to try. Sometimes a healing reaction is the problem, so you can try cutting back on all supplements to see if it calms down. There will be times on the program when it is near impossible to find a remedy for the sleep issue, and you just have to wait it out until the healing episode passes.
This is one of the most common healing reactions. Certain toxic metals are very pro-inflammatory. They are very irritating to any part of the body they come into contact with. When they are floating in the blood on the way to the liver or kidneys, they can interact with the joints and cause joint pain. Clients have called me wondering if they suddenly have arthritis only to have the pain suddenly stop after a couple of days to a couple of weeks. The most common areas to experience this pain are the hands, knees and hips, but any joint can be affected. Extra coffee enemas can help, and also be sure to drink your full water dose. A single heat lamp aimed at the painful joint or joints is often useful to help encourage the toxins to move away from the joint more quickly. Eating enough cooked vegetables helps the liver to filter the toxins out. But, in general, just give it time, and it will pass.
Nausea and Vomiting
Nausea. Always stop all supplements when you get nausea. Once the nausea passes, start your supplements slowly with very small doses, and gradually work into the full doses. Nausea can be caused by toxins dumping. Coffee enemas almost always help and are best done at the first sign of a nausea. You may do more than one coffee enema in a day if needed, and if you tolerate them well.
Pain and Inflammation

Muscle cramps usually have one of the following causes: dehydration, low magnesium, low calcium, low potassium or poor circulation. Occasionally, muscle cramps are caused by direct irritation to the muscles from a toxin being eliminated from the body. I suggest drinking extra water as a first step (you may also need to try a different brand of water in case your brand for some reason isn’t hydrating you). Also, be sure to eat more cooked vegetables to get more of all of the minerals above. If increasing your water and cooked vegetables doesn’t relieve the cramps, you may try taking some extra plain magnesium up to 1000 mg. per day. If that doesn’t help after three days, stop the extra magnesium and try extra plain calcium up to 1000 mg. per day. If calcium doesn’t work within a few days, stop the extra calcium and try a plain potassium up to 1000 mg. per day. We carry quality versions of these supplements here. Whatever mineral supplement you try, only continue it for as long as needed. Often the mineral will be replenished within a few days, and you won’t need the extra amount anymore. There are times a toxin is dumping from some organ or tissue that blocks one of these minerals and causes cramping. Once the toxin stops dumping, the cramping resolves. Poor circulation is a little more complicated to resolve, so you would need to contact me if none of the above works. In general, if the muscle cramps are severe, it is best to contact me for guidance. Of course, at times when I am hard to reach, feel free to experiment with the above remedies.
A note about shoes and foot cramps: the foot is meant to roll and bend when walking. Many of the shoes we wear do not allow this natural motion to occur. You can see what the natural motion is by walking barefoot or in socks. Flip flops are the worst shoes to wear because the wearer tends to bend the foot the opposite direction to what is natural in order to keep the flip flop on the foot. This can cause the feet to be more prone to muscle cramps, especially at the end of the day. Any shoe that doesn’t grip the foot and forces the wearer to arch their feet to hold it on will be a problem. It is subtle and you may not realize you are doing it. Try flexible shoes that grip your foot well, and when at home, wear socks with skid pads on the bottom or some other very flexible, conforming footwear. Similarly, shoes that have a sole that is too firm such as some sneakers, some men’s shoes, boots, etc. also don’t allow the foot to bend properly. But generally these aren’t as problematic as flip flops.
IMPORTANT: While we do recommend drinking more water, do not drink too much water. If you are an average-sized person, drinking over a gallon and a half per day can actually cause kidney stress.
Sugar – Craving or Eating too much
Sugar Cravings. Chromium
Already ate sugar. Cataplex GTF by Standard Process
If you are going in for a surgical procedure, a few days before the procedure, reduce oils and garlic in your diet, and stop all EPA-DHA, Vitamin C and alcohol altogether. These are all blood thinners and can cause more bleeding from the surgery and slow healing. You also want to start eating lots of foods high in vitamin K. These foods are primarily leafy greens, spring onions (Scallions), Brussels sprouts, cabbage, broccoli, cucumbers, and fermented dairy (kefir, yogurt, cheese, and sour cream).
Continue this for 2 or 3 days after your procedure. Then switch back to your regular diet and supplement protocol.
A few days after your surgery, you can usually use the Single Heat Lamp on the surgical area to improve healing. Make sure you ask your doctor or surgeon, “How long should I wait before applying heat to the surgical area.” You do not want to use heat or a heat lamp immediately after a surgical procedure as it increases blood flow to the area and may actually cause complications. Follow your doctor’s instruction on this and wait at least two or three days to use heat or a heat lamp.
Sun or Heat Exposure
Heat exposure. If you are going to be in the heat or sweating excessively (including regular saunas), take 300mg of potassium and a pinch of sea salt in your mouth and drink it all down with water before going into the heat. Also make sure that you are drinking your full amount of recommended water plus a cup or two extra.
Sun exposure. If you are going to be in the sun a lot, in addition to the above recommendations for heat exposure, use a natural non-toxic sun block. Also take 6 Cataplex F tablets by Standard Process to protect your skin from sun damage, and 6 Cyruta Plus by Standard Process and 2 bags of organic Green Tea to help protect you from the radiation.
Cover yourself in coconut oil. Make sure you take Kelp and PectaSol before and after you go.
Whitening can damage your teeth. VitaMyr’s original toothpaste (in the orange tube) is our favorite.
A heat lamp is one of the best remedies for an infected tooth. You aim the light at that area (just aim it at the cheek from the outside – you don’t need to open your mouth) for up to 10 minutes at a time up to 6 times per day. It brings blood flow to the area which brings immune cells. Heat also disables or harms many pathogens.
You can also lay on your side with some colloidal silver (such as Silver 24) in your mouth for about 5 to 10 minutes and let the silver soak into that area. You may then swallow the silver. Use about a teaspoon or two of silver when doing that.
You can also use a combination of neem and orange oil. You have to buy both separately and mix a little of each in the palm of your hand and then use a finger to rub the mixture into the gum area where the infection is (obviously wash your hands before doing this). Rub it in for 1 minute. You can do this twice a day. The orange oil and neem are both anti-microbial. The orange oil also helps the neem to penetrate. This can be very powerful. Oil pulling you are doing is good, too.
Sometimes a root canal is needed in order to fully get the infection out, but the above can work if you give it time. The main problem is that the tooth has nerve channels that get infected and once the root of tooth has been removed and filled, the body cannot get into those channels to kill the infection. So the tooth continuously re-infects the person. This is why so many practitioners recommend getting the tooth removed. I do know of a dentist in Orange County, CA that has a laser he uses on the tooth to kill the infection in the tooth. This helps to prevent this reinfection issue. But he is quite expensive.
Urinary Tract Irritation and Kidney Pain – Some of the toxins we have in our bodies are very strong irritants. When they start to dump out of the body on our program, it is common to feel some kidney and bladder irritation as they are being pushed out through the kidneys. It can feel much like a typical urinary tract infection. You may have to urinate more often, feel burning while urinating, have trouble holding urine, have constricted urine flow, or feel like your bladder hasn’t fully emptied after urinating. You may also experience some kidney pain and back pain near the kidneys. The first thing to do is to drink more water. Drink your full recommended amount plus a cup or two extra. This is often the only remedy needed. If Renamide is on your list of optional supplements to take, then you may certainly take Renamide to help the kidneys (it is a kidney support formula). Do not exceed the recommended amount on your list, and do not take if pregnant.
If you want to be sure the discomfort is due to detox, you may reduce or stop your regular supplements for a few days while continuing to drink extra water. Cooked vegetables and meat are highly nutritious and can be enough to cause detox to continue so you can even go so far as limiting your diet to lower-nutrient foods like raw vegetables, whole grains and oils only. This will usually stop the detox, and therefore stop the symptoms within 24-48 hours.
Urinary Tract and Bladder Infections If you are worried that you may have a bladder infection, a simple urine test will show if infection is present. You may use a home urine test (use any Urine Test Strips with 7 or more Parameters just follow the instructions) or visit a doctor for this, but be sure to confirm that bacterial infection is present before taking antibiotics. It is very rare to actually get a bladder or kidney infection while on the program, so try drinking more water first and see if symptoms improve.

Preventing Chronic Urinary Tract and Bladder Infections The most important things for avoiding urinary tract, bladder and kidney infections are drinking plenty of high-quality water and avoiding ALL sugar (including fruit and alcohol) as it feeds infection
These types of infection are usually caused by bacteria from the anus migrating to your urethra. This can occur during sex, so be sure that both you and your partner thoroughly clean private parts before engaging in sexual activity. I would also recommend not receiving oral sex or engaging in anal sex until the situation is well handled.
Wearing sweaty underwear for too long, such as during or after exercise can also be a factor, so be sure to change your underwear immediately after exercise.
Make sure that you urinate when you feel the urge. Don’t hold it as this can irritate the bladder.
Avoid bathtubs, hot tubs, pools, etc. Take showers instead.
For women, when you use the toilet, wipe from front to back to prevent bacteria from entering your urethra. Also avoid using feminine sprays or powders as they can irritate your urethra. Only use white, unscented toilet paper.
You can also supplement your protocol with 2 ounces of unsweetened cranberry juice. You can dilute it with water and add a couple drops of Stevia to sweeten it. Instead of this, you can get cranberry capsules or tablets from the health-food store and take 2 per day. You can also take D-Mannose.
IMPORTANT: While we do recommend drinking more water, do not drink too much water. If you are an average-sized person, drinking over a gallon and a half per day can actually cause kidney stress.
